Pei Yuanshao is a fictional character in Luo Guanzhong's historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. He was a former Yellow Turban rebel serving under Zhang Jiao. Following the failed uprising, Pei Yuanshao and Zhou Cang became the leaders of a group of bandits. They encountered Guan Yu, who was on his journey to reunite with Liu Bei after crossing five passes and slaying six of Cao Cao's generals. Pei and Zhou requested to become Guan's followers, which Guan agreed. Zhou accompanied Guan while Pei waited in the stronghold with the other men. Not long later, Zhao Yun passed by the stronghold and Pei Yuanshao attempted to rob Zhao's horse, but was slain by Zhao in a duel.
